Dinosaur Eggs

Dinosaur Egg Hunting!

Picture 1

We have been dinosaur ‘egg-sperts’ this week!  After finding a mysterious letter and following a trail of prehistoric footprints and dinosaur ‘poop’, we discovered three eggs nestled in the ground in our outdoor area...

We made sure the eggs were safe by making a nest for them, made warning signs to protect them and wrote letters back to their dinosaur parents.

Indoors and outdoors, we have been highly engaged in various dino-themed learning experiences: digging for bones and ordering them by length; hatching 'reading eggs' containing all our sight words; making playdough dinosaurs; reading and sharing dinosaur themed stories and non-fiction books; building a 'museum' for our dinosaur figures and fossil hunting for fossils and treasure in the sand tray.

We have enjoyed showing our families our Jurassic ‘dig site’ each day and we were so excited when the eggs finally began to hatch!

We waited for the return of mummy and daddy dinosaur who eventually came back to check on their new dino-babies on Friday morning.

Mummy & Daddy Dinosaur return!

The Dinosaurs Song

We have loved listening to this funky dinosaur song this week!
