Computing Vision at Emmaus

Computing Vision at Emmaus

At Emmaus, our aim is to produce digitally literate learners; pupils who are able to use ICT safely, express themselves confidently and develop their ideas creatively as participants in the digital world now and in the future workplace. In planning and delivering a high quality Computing curriculum, our pupils are equipped to use computational thinking and creativity to become efficient digital creators, communicators and citizens.

ICT is an integral aspect of their learning and is incorporated into all areas of the National Curriculum, in a variety of contexts. We ensure that all pupils encounter a wide variety of ICT media from an early age; every classroom is equipped with a high-spec touchscreen interactive smartboard; teachers and support staff has access to laptops and ipads for use inside and outside of the classroom and each class has timetabled access to our computer suite and portable bank of class sets of laptops and tablets.

Emmaus pupils are taught to appreciate the relevance of ICT in our society and evaluate its impact. They recognise that the internet provides vast potential for the user with a wide and varied amount of information and stimulating activities, however our pupils know that access to the internet comes with the responsibility of ensuring that it is only used in a socially and morally acceptable manner.
