Miss Baxendale brought tiny tadpoles for us to look after and observe. We talked about the frog's life cycle and how the tadpoles had hatched from frogspawn. We used a magnifying glass to watch the tadpoles swimming and eating pondweed. They also ate the tiny water fleas (daphnia) too. We were excited to see their back then front legs growing, Mrs Caulfield-Smith started to feed them blood worms. Their tails quickly disappeared and the froglets had become tiny frogs ready to be taken to a pond!

We enjoyed playing with small world frogspawn, tadpoles, froglets and frogs in the water play. We also matched five frogs on the log to the numerals 1 to 5 and sung "Five Little Speckled Frogs" with our friends.
