Health and Wellbeing Week 27th June -1st July 2016

The children have had a great time taking part in Health and Wellbeing week. It is widely recognised that health and wellbeing is an extremely important issue for all of our children to develop, absorb and learn their health and wellbeing behaviours early in life. The main message of the week has been to encourage children and adults to think about the choices we make about exercise, nutrition and keeping ourselves fit & healthy to live happy and successful lives.

Throughout the week, the school had lots of class based activities; swap the pop and drinking water challenge, sun safety awareness, 5 a day for your mind and your body, rights and responsibilities, British Values and much more. 


We were also very fortunate to have a number of visitors to work with children, all centered on aspects of wellbeing. These included Zumba fitness sessions, sports coaching from the Liverpool lifestyles, relaxation, mindfulness activities, healthy cooking classes and visitors talking about emotional and mental health, healthy lifestyles and physical wellbeing.


Thanks to all visitors, PC Tetlow – e-safety and healthy bodies workshop, Mr. Housbey – healthy minds assemblies, Kenny Lee – Liverpool Lifestyles, Helen Webster – Zumba instructor, Paddy Byrne – EFC in the community and England International Ladies team, Ellie Stewart & Jenna Dear and an ex Emmaus Pupil, Liam Philips. Thanks also to Mrs. Cain, one of our governors, for her help and support and freebies for children to take home.
