Mrs Hunstone’s Group:

Please over half term, spend 10-30mins every single day practising phase 2 phonics sounds. Your child should now know every letter name (alphabet) and the phonics sounds (letter sounds they make). These are:

s a t p I n m d g o c k ck e u r h b f l ll ss

Each day, your child should be able to read and spell consonant-vowel-consonant words (CVC words) independently. Examples of CVC words; dad, sit, cat, top, mat, top, not etc.

You could practise by writing them and asking your child to read them and say a word for them to write.

Daily practise of this alongside your child’s reading is absolutely vital in order to ensure they maintain progress across the Autumn term. They have all worked so hard, we are really proud of them.

Phase 2 Phonics Set 5 | h, b, f, ff

This week we are learning: Phase 2 Phonics Set 5 | h, b, f, ff
Practise reading and writing these sounds.

Tricky Words and Sight Words Song

Tricky words can't be sounded out so they are harder to read and write as they don't follow a pattern! Can you read these words on sight?
