Maths this week:

We have been using positional language to describe where objects are.  Rosie the hen came to visit us in school and kept hiding, looking for peace and quiet.  The children were very good at finding her and describing where she was.  We have had a lot of fun and hope you can have fun hiding toys at home and describing where they have been hidden.  Can your child understand and practice using the words: behind, next to, under, on top of, above, inside, etc.

The following stories and songs can be listened to, paused and discussed.  They are an excellent way to use the positional language.

Rosie's Walk

Can you discuss where the naughty fox is in the story?

Each Peach Pear Plum

Can you spot the hidden characters and talk about where they are?

Dinosaurs Like To Play Hide & Seek

Try to find all of the dinosaurs as they hide in this fun video!

Where's the Monkey?

A song to help children learn prepositions of place.
