Year 1 enjoyed a trip to the Museum of Liverpool to learn about toys from the past and present. Over the last half term, we have learned about how toys have changed over time. We know that older toys had less complicated mechanisms and were made out of different materials.
We listened to Jacob from the museum as he showed us lots of different toys from the past and present. We used historical vocabulary in our answers which impressed passers by and the museum staff!
We looked around the museum to find different toys. We learned about Meccano and why it is important to Liverpool, spotted some toys our families played with and even spotted a photograph of Miss Fitzgerald's Nan in the museum! Once the workshop was finished, we had an opportunity to play with some old and new toys.
It was a great day. Our children were a credit to school and were so well behaved. Several members of the public stopped to tell us how sensible and smart they thought our children were. Well done Year 1, we're so proud of you!
