Reading is key to the children's development and the children should be able to talk about their favourite books and authors.
All the children should find their own level, their own personal style of writing and whether they prefer stories or factual books. However, many children still like Roald Dahl; David Walliams is increasingly popular; and classic writers like Jacqeline Wilson or Enid Blyton can still engage with the children.
There are many websites with advice about both old and new books for children. We make no specific recommendations, as you know your children best.
In addition to ongoing revision of year 3 expectations, the children will be focusing upon the attached grammar rules and terms.
The children will be revising, reinforcing and learning punctuation rules throughout the year and applying these in ever more detailed pieces of writing.
