We have immersed ourselves in exciting learning experiences to prepare for Lunar New Year and the beginning of the Year of the Horse!  We have had opportunities to explore real Asian artefacts and listened to traditional Lunar New Year stories and legends.  We dressed up, made lucky red envelopes, tried Chinese calligraphy and the chopsticks challenge!

Our Celebration Day was so much fun!  We dressed in the traditional colours of red and yellow to bring good luck and good fortune to our school!  We loved dancing with colourful scarves as Mrs Neil led our dragon, lion and firecracker dances.  Then we went on a dragon parade around the whole school, sharing good luck messages with every class and collecting gold coins along the way!  We then found the courage to search in the dragon’s mouth for treats to take home in our lucky red envelopes…
