Our aim is to ensure every child is a reader by the time they leave Reception.  From your child's first day they will have a phonics lesson.  We will teach them to recognise the sounds that each letter makes and focus on developing their oral blending and segmenting skills.  We incorporate phonics as part of everything we do in school, wherever we are learning, together on the carpet, completing activities indoors or exploring outside we make links to the phonics curriculum. 

The children are immersed in an environment that is enhanced with activities and resources to develop their phonic ability.  All adults are trained to ensure we are able to make meaningful links to phonics during our daily interactions with the children.
