80th VE Day Celebrations

We have been learning about VE Day this week and how it is 80 years since the sad times of the War ended. We watched an original World War 2 pilot fly two children in a bi plane on CBeebies and saw footage from the VE Day celebrations in London 80 years ago.

We thought about the brave soldiers who served to keep us safe and give us happy lives.

We painted Union Jack flags, decorated bunting and sponge printed giant poppies for the EYFS display. We made Emmaus VE Day keyrings to take home too.

Saoirse showed us a photos of her great grandparents and great uncle on VE Day 80 years ago!

We dressed in red, white and blue, had a parade with Reception, marching and playing musical instruments then had a party to celebrate the 80th VE Day Anniversary.
