Postman Mark's Visit
Postman Mark, came to talk to us about his important job sorting and delivering mail. Postman Mark said that he works with another post person and if they have any very heavy parcels they use the postal van.
Postman Mark showed us his large post bag and explained where his mini computer was kept for scanning special deliveries.
We learnt about posting letters and cards in the post box and putting a stamp on them too.
Postman Mark said that all the postal workers are extremely busy collecting all the letters from the post boxes in their large sacks. Postman Mark showed us his Royal Mail badge on his shirt, post bag, the photos of the postal van and his special truck for pushing mail around to local houses (a PDT, "Postboy Delivery Trolley").
We have been working in our role play post office using the scanner, laptop, writing letters and sticking stamps on our envelopes and parcels.
