We looked at the large pumpkin skin and guessed how it felt before touching it, it was smooth with some rough parts too. We used safety knives to chop and cut the pumpkin. We looked at the seeds. We felt the inside of the pumpkin; we found out that it was soft and wet. We thought of other words to describe how it felt. Some children had carved pumpkins at home...Joshua and Harrison made a good job of pumpkin carving!

Some children tasted roasted pumpkin soup with crusty bread. We served ourselves using a ladle. Cobie really loved the soup!
