Children's Mental Health Week
For Mental Health Awareness Week in Nursery we talked about how we can look after ourselves and each other when someone is feeling sad. The children shared great ideas about giving hugs, sharing toys, playing together, cuddling pets and telling parents, grandparents or teachers how they feel.
We watched Biff and Chip 'Superheroes' on CBeebies and thought about how we can help one another and our families if somebody is not having a good day. We also thought about how we are all special and 'super' in different ways!
We enjoyed The Rainbow Breath Song and joined in with the calming deep, slow breathing together. Some children drew rainbow pictures and others made rainbow models out of construction kits.
The children loved the new cat puppet Mrs Armstrong brought to Nursery to join in with our rainbow breath. We called him Clippy, after one of Mrs Caulfield's cats because he looks very similar. Clippy will be helping us with our calming rainbow breaths each day! Click on the link below to sing the rainbow song.
