Dragons, Knights & Castles
Exciting outdoor learning experiences this week following the children’s interests in dragons, knights and castles. We listened to stories and read books to find out more about life in the past and the dwellings that people lived in. We talked about our own homes and how these are different to life in a castle.
We developed designing and making skills by creating our own armour, crowns and built an awesome castle with a working drawbridge! We persevered with different methods to find an efficient pulley to draw the bridge up or down. We used new vocabulary too:
“Halt! Who goes there…friend or foe?”
The guards on sentry duty took their role very seriously defending the castle walls and protecting the royal family who were banqueting within!
