Pumpkins & Pumpkin Soup!

We compared the sizes of our pumpkins from the tiny pumpkin to the largest. We held them to see which was the lightest and which was the heaviest. The largest pumpkin needed two children to hold it!

We used safety knives to chop and cut a pumpkin. We looked at the seeds. We felt the inside of the pumpkin; we found out that it was soft. We thought of other words to describe how it felt. Cian said "squidgy," Robyn said it was "soft and slimy." We thought it felt squashy and squishy too. Thomas remembered that the pumpkin was "tough to cut."

We ate roasted pumpkin soup. We served ourselves using a large spoon from the pumpkin shell. Amber said that she was going to make pumpkin soup with Mummy. Robyn told us that her Mummy loves pumpkins. Lots of children found that they loved pumpkin soup once they had tasted it!
