History
LO: To create a timeline of important events in Maya history.
Look at the ‘Order the events cards’ to learn about the range of important events in Maya history.
Look closely at the dates. Which events happened the furthest back in history? Which was the most recent event?
Use the squared paper to devise a suitable scale to create a timeline of these events. How many years will each square on the paper represent? Plot the events on your timeline – making sure that the spaces between events is accurate.
Depending on the scale you choose, you may need to print out more than one sheet of square paper.
If you do not have a printer, you can use any paper and measure 1cm intervals with a ruler.
