Incubating Eggs
Live Eggs!
Live chicken eggs arrived at Emmaus in an incubator to keep them warm. Hens lay eggs most days but only fertilised eggs develop into chicks. The eggs used for cooking are sterile eggs with no developing chick inside.
We observed the eggs and talked about the chicks growing inside, almost ready to hatch out.
We looked at a non fiction text and pictures of the chicks growing inside live eggs. We predicted when the chicks may hatch.
