Merseyside Police Dogs
PC Carl and PC Dave from Merseyside Police Dog Section talked about their important job and brought three of their very talented Police dogs to meet us. Lucy and George are highly trained sniffer dogs who can use their sense of smell to locate up to 16 different scents. We were then treated to a dramatic demonstration of how effectively Police dogs can obey orders to stop criminals when Jinx, the German Shepherd, chased and intercepted PC Dave who was fortunately wearing in a thick protective bite-proof jacket! The Officers also reminded us how to stay safe and calm when we are around dogs in our community.
