RE & Science Topic: Myself

We have been talking about our families, pets, our interests and thinking about how we have grown from being babies. We have made collages at home of 'A Few of Our Favourite Things' to share with our friends at Nursery. We have talked about what we can do 'now we are big' compared with being a baby.

Jaden's baby Michael came to visit. He is only six weeks old! We heard about how Michael drinks milk because he has no teeth and cries when he is hungry, because he can’t talk yet. Jaden told the class that Michael ‘makes noise.’ We looked at his tiny hands and feet. We heard how Michael travels in a pram and wears nappies because he still has a lot of growing to do!

William said, ‘He’s too small to talk.’ Isaac commented, ‘He can’t go on the toilet. He’s got little legs! He has baby food; he can’t play because he’s too little.’ Jacob said, ‘…in a pram.’

‘He eats milk… he’s too young to talk, he cries,’ explained Bliss. Lucy said that Michael was ‘so little.’ Alessa said ‘he has milk.’ Archer told everyone, ‘Big boys can talk. I got milk from cows…I go to bed with mine.’

‘I can carry my baby,’ Jesse told us all. ‘My baby can talk, he says “hi” back,’ said Jonathon.

Emily said that Michael needs a nappy. ‘Me and Isabelle were in Mummy’s tummy when we were babies,’ Emily added.

We have made hand and foot prints to see how big we are now and we are learning that God has made us all, He loves us and knows our names. Mason, Kezia and Bliss all remembered that God made us as tiny babies.
