Deacon Housbey visited Nursery and Reception to talk about celebrations we have together and celebrations we can enjoy in church too. Michael told us about his dog called Roco who is part of the family, Grace said that she loves to play card games with her Mummy, Lily told us about having a party and Grandma coming to her house. Jay said that he decorates the house for Halloween. 

Deacon Housbey explained that we come together for celebrations on special occasions like birthdays, weddings and baptisms. He said that the church family gather together at Mass or Communion and also gather to listen to God's word. 

Deacon Housbey explained about the special table in his church which needs to be set. It is called an altar. He explained about the special font where babies are baptised. He showed a chalice, bowls for bread, candles and silver holders. Deacon Housbey talked about the priest's special clothes and scarves. The priest's scalves have colours which mean different things. Red reminds us of the saints, blue reminds us of Mary, green is the colour of the week and white is for special times. 

Children dressed us in priest's clothes. Mr Housbey talked about us loving God our Father and even loving people we don't like, which can be hard, but God can help us.
