Allday's Farm Visit

Allday's Farm Come to Visit Nursery and Reception

Farmers Steve and Stacey brought some of their animals to visit. We met Razzle Dazzel the guinea pig, a chicken called Sandy and a cockeral called Pegasus. We stroked two week old chicks, one was called Sofia. Mischief and Hazel the rabbits felt very soft, Chase the chinchilla was a firm favourite and we heard he is a rodent related to rats and mice. He had long whiskers. Joseph said that Thor and Loki the brother kune kune pigs felt 'coarse and rough.'  We patted the woolly lambs called Rainbow and Mr Bean and the pygme goats called Skye and Everest. We even groomed Henry the mini shetland pony.

We learnt about some difference between us and the animals and also  where some animals originate from.

Harper remebered that baby goats are called kids. Scarlett knew the chickens had feathers, she also knew horses have hoofs. Lily told Farmer Steve that she has a horse called Bebe. Georgia knew the cockeral had a beak. Mark said the cockeral's red comb was 'red hair.' Dolly said that the pig stood in the water 'to keep hydrated.' Mossa adored all the farm animals!

Afterwards Farmer Steve told us the story of The Three Billy Goats Gruff and we joined in with the actions and repeated refrains.  We had a great day!
