The Giant's Castle
The Giant's Castle Role Play
We enjoyed listening to the stories of Jack and the Beanstalk, Jim and the Beanstalk, Jasper's Beanstalk and The Snartest Giant in Town. We dressed up in giant wellington boots, shoes, shirts, a giant hat and long scalfs in the giant's castle role play area. We tried on the giant's jewellery from the treasure chest and counted the coins. We enjoyed retelling the stories using props and also puppets.
We talked about the giant leaves from Mrs Armstrong's garden and investigated their hollow stems. We showed them to Reception and asked Mrs Gaeid if we could plant them in Forset School to see if they would grow. Jonah said that they needed roots to grow.
We drew pictures in the floor book from Jack and the Beanstalk story
Some children emailed photos of the beanstalks they grew and took home to look at on the Clever Board. Imogen's was very tall.
We sorted objects into big, little, long and short.
