We enjoyed story and rhymes when Irene the librarian came to visit for Book Week. Lots of parents, grandparents, great grandparents and some siblings came to join in too. 'Shark in the Park' was a really funny story and we pretended to 'look up, look down and all around' through a telescope just like Timothy in the book. Irene told us how we can fill in a form to receive a library card and enjoy many, many books from any Liverpool library.
The Nursery also joined Reception to enjoy a book from Reception's special author. Mrs Gaied and Mrs Millington read 'Room on the Broom' by Julia Donaldson. Reception children helped to tell the story with puppets and props. We enjoyed re-enacting the story using props in Nursery.
The children love listening to Mrs Caulfield reading Julia Donaldson's 'The Gruffalo' and watched the DVD on the clever board, as well as dressed up and acted out the story. The children enjoyed Maths, floor book mark making and role play activities based on Goldilocks and the Three Bears story, another firm Nursery favourite too!
It was very exciting when Year 6 came to read to the Nursery children too.
