We enjoyed making our own Challah Bread as part of our Judaism topic this week, we drank grape juice to represent wine and enjoyed sharing our bread as a class
Celebrating Shabbat
Diversity:
We have been learning about alternative religions and our focus this half term was on Judaism. We learned all about Shabbat and the rituals and rules that Jewish people follow every week to celebrate the sabbath day and ‘keep it holy’ as in the Ten Commandments. We learned about the items on the Shabbat meal and baked our own Challah bread! We drank grape juice (to represent wine) and ate our home made bread together.
