Exploring the Environment
The new Nursery children have had great fun playing and exploring together. The children have been developing their spacial awareness and physical skills through balancing, climbing, building bridges, walking the pirate plank on the beach and using trikes, scooters and balls. Children are learning to jump and land safely with 'squashy knees' as they balanced along the bridges they constructed.
Many children were delighted as they mastered the climbing the ladder in Jay's House or building sand castles. Children searched for treasure on the beach and built campfires too.
It was exciting to play with hoops and balls in the new Nursery meadow. Children played chase and searched for Autumn leaves under the trees. They used rakes just like in the story 'Rosie's Walk'. The utensil and pan instruments proved to be a hit too!
Indoors the new Interactive Smart Board has been very popular with children taking turns and playing together on mark making, Maths and phonic games.
Children have enjoyed quiet moments too, to reflect, observe others and enjoy looking through books.
