Drumming with Dads and Grandads
Drumming Workshops
The children, Dads and Grandads explored different rhythms on African drums. Paul talked about the drums and how they are played. In Africa people say, 'If you can sing, you can drum!'
Paul used his 'magic stick' to show us when to start and stop drumming. Some of the children and Dads had a turn directing the drumming too!
We clapped out the syllables as we chanted 'fish and chips' and 'I love chocolate cake' then we played the rhythms on the drums.
Neil from the Children's Centre arranged the workshops with Paul and also brought animal masks to decorate.
