Den Building with Dads, Granddads and Uncles

We had a great day building dens. Dads, Granddads and Uncles came in to help and join in the fun! We used masking tape, pegs and clamps to make cane frames and cover them with fabric. Oscar's secret den was built in the willow house! We made dens ranging from Mrs King's Sky at Night Den made by Emily and Isabella, to Jordan's Avenger Show Den. Daniel created Spider Den with his name spelled out on the grass, Michael and Isaac built a Dino World Den, Alfie made a Teepee Fort, Lottie and Brodie created a Wig Wam Den, Jacob made a Turkey Den (where he had seen tents on his holiday), Joel built a Hulk Den, Elena built a Princess Den, Mila made a Star Den, Jasmine and Matilda created a Den of Dreams together while Oliver and James both created Liverpool Dens.

Neil from the Children’s Centre read us a story about a little boy flying a kite with his Dad and we all joined in with the repeating refrains. The children loved showing their Dads, Uncles and Granddads the new Nursery hammock, the work in their learning journeys and photos of holding snakes and Rosie the tarantula when Dylan's reptiles visited.

Everybody had a great day in the sunshine. Thanks to Neil and a special thanks to all the male carers who came to make our den building so much fun!
