The Tiger Who Came to Tea...Tribute to Judith Kerr
Today we the heard the sad news that acclaimed children's author Judith Kerr had passed away. We thanked God for Judith Kerr's beautiful stories and remembered that she is in heaven. As a tribute we brought forward our planned "Tiger Who Came to Tea" role play.
We enjoyed listening to her famous, well loved story of Sophie and the gentle tiger who called in to visit. "That's amazing!" Elena exclaimed after hearing the story. "I can't wait to be a tiger because I just love tigers!" Becca said. George loved dressing up, "I'm the Daddy tiger, I'm a magic tiger!" he told his friends. Luna decided, "I'm going to make him some cupcakes. He was eating his (tiger) food!" Charlotte decided, "We need honey and lemon drink for the tiger. He doesn't feel very well. Stay! Here's your honey and lemon."
