Music Quality Mark

Music Mark Schools are committed to providing high-quality music education for their school community.

Quality Mark in English and Mathematics

We were delighted to be awarded this quality mark in May 2022. The Quality Mark recognises improving standards in the provision, practice and performance of English and mathematics; supporting our Ofsted preparations; and providing evidence of the high-quality education provided by our school.

Inclusion Quality Mark - Gold

Achieving the ICM award enabled our school to celebrate the success of our inclusive practice, identify our key strengths and provided recommendations for developing practice further.

The ICM is validated by staff who have all been SENCOs previously and who have extensive school leadership experience and a detailed understanding of effective SEN provision.

The validation process will helped us to:
Confirm our compliance with statutory responsibilities, including the Equality Act and SEN Regulations.
Support our preparations for an Ofsted inspection.
Support our implementation of the new DFE Code of Practice for SEN.
Evidence our effectiveness of leadership, management and governance.
Evidence our quality of your engagement with SEN children and their parents.
Demonstrate the effectiveness of our early intervention and partnership working.
Enable our governors to develop an even greater understanding of the provision and outcomes for vulnerable learners.
Evidence the impact of our CPD programme and SEN funding including the use of Pupil Premium.

Attendance Quality Mark Gold

Absence from school can be one of the most complex areas to address, as it is often the symptom of other issues.

The Liverpool Attendance Quality Mark has been designed to support schools in evaluating their strategies to improve attendance and reduce persistent absence. As a school we were delighted to be awarded this at Gold level.

RE Silver Quality Mark

The REQM recognises high quality RE, particularly those schools which are providing their learners with authentic experiences and contributing to whole school outcomes.

RE makes a powerful contribution to young people’s learning. It provides them with the chance to explore the big ideas of religion and belief and to think about what matters in their own lives.

Good RE supports the development of the whole child. It also has a significant contribution to make to whole school improvement. With the renewed focus from Ofsted on the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development for all pupils, it is more important than ever that RE is recognised and celebrated.

The RE Quality Mark has two purposes: it recognises good practice in RE and also provides a powerful tool for development. Schools which have applied for the award have found that it affirms the work they are already doing, raises the profile of the subject and gives them ideas and confidence for developing their practice even further.

Centre of Excellence for French

Emmaus has supported the Liverpool Languages Iniiative since its inception and were the first school to be  awarded the Centre of Excellence for French in Liverpool. All the children receive two half hour lessons a week. One is with a native speaker and one with their own class teacher.  The children are given the opportunity to visit France in Years 5 and 6:  Year 5 stay in the Chateau du Broutel in the Somme Department  on an outdoor education visit which also incorporates a visit to World War One battlefields and cemetaries. Whilst Year 6 visit Alpe D'Huez and complete a 6 day ski course. As well as this we try to create as immersive an environment as possible with French spoken, read or heard: on labels on objects around school, in prayers, on the dinner menu, doing the register, greeting people, in class instruction and on the newsletters. Our aim is for our children to have fun, become more confident in using a foreign language and ultimately to study a foreign language in secondary school.

In 2023 Emmaus was awarded the Gold Quality Mark in French  for the second time -  the highest award given by the Local Authority. Only 2 schools in Liverpool have been awarded this.
