Tous Ensemble, En Chemin Avec Jesus

Diwali Celebrations

We have enjoyed learning about Diwali, the Hindu festival of light. We listened to the story of Prince Rama rescuing Princess Sita. We made firework collages and drew colourful Rangoli patterns outdoors. We made diva lamps using air drying clay then decorated them with stars and sequins. We drew around our hands and practised our scissors skills cutting them out. We decorated our paper Mendhi hands.

We dressed in traditional clothes and ate Indian food together. We enjoyed the poppadoms and mango chutney, some children ate all their vegetable samosa and spicy onion bajhi too!

We had fun dancing in the hall to Indian music with Mrs Neil.  (The morning children will be dancing next week.)

We learnt a Diwali song from Cbeebies, click on the link to sing along.
