Pancake Day!
We celebrated Lent approaching by making pancakes, tossing cold pancakes and enjoying warm pancakes together for snack with fresh lemon to squeeze on, chocolate and strawberry sauces. We looked at a pancake recipe in a children's cookery book.
Together we talked about the pancake ingredients as they were added to the mixing bowl. Charlotte knew that the scales were 'to see if something's heavy.' We all took turns stirring the mixture with a whisk to make a smooth pancake batter ready to cook for snack.
Jordan (morning) and George C. (afternoon) won certificates for Champion Pancake Tossing!
We also listened to the story of 'The Big Pancake' and joined in with the repeating refrains.
