Maths Indoors and Outdoors...
Number, Shape and Space.
We have been reinforcing counting and number skills outdoors by counting jumps in puddles, playing a chalk hop scotch style game with a dice and ordering numbered dinosaur foot prints. We explored simple concepts of capacity and weight in the mud kitchen too.
We have enjoyed number snap and number lotto games with friends and used the Numicon and white boards with magnetic numbers to explore number conservation and finding one more than a given number.
We have created many varied and imaginative models using 3D shapes and construction kits. We are being introduced to the names of some 3D shapes too.
William and Rueban made a fantastic 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' model using the mirrored blocks. Tom worked hard to construct an elaborate doorway to the quiet area with a team of friends.
