Nursery Tadpoles
Mrs Caulfield's friends have given Nursery some tadpoles from their pond. We have been using magnifying glasses to observe them as they swim and nibble on the pond weed. We looked at the red blood worms and the water fleas which they eat too. We are keeping a close eye on them to see when they start growing their back and front legs and become frogpoles. When they turn into froglets they will be returning to the pond.
We have created tadpole pictures by smudging chalk pastels and using finger paint. We will also be making dough models of the frog lifecycle. We have been playing with the small world frogspawn, tadpoles, frogpoles, froglets and frogs in the water play. Click on the links below to see some of the photos.
