We have watched the tiny caterpillars growing then building silk cocoons where they have transformed into beautiful Painted Lady butterflies!
We listened to the story of "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" and dressed up as caterpillars too.
Today two of the butterflies emerged from their cocoons. They ate juice from an orange slice and dissolved sugar (similar to nectar). Mrs Caulfield released the two butterflies, but there are three more still in cocoons. Let's hope that they emerge after the half term holiday!
