Year 3
Year Three enjoyed meeting Mrs Mackenzie's mum and asking her questions about her recent pilgrimage trip. Through this interview the children were able to understand our RE topic of Special Places much more.
Year 3 enjoyed a fantastic trip to the Dewa Experience at Chester. They learnt many interesting facts about Roman Life and even got to march around the streets of Chester as a Roman Soldier and visit the site of an amphitheatre.
Year Three enjoyed a trip to Calderstones Park and found out lots of interesting facts about the stones from the Stone Age.
Year Three enjoyed sharing their Egyptian knowledge with their parents in our year group assembly. The children all worked hard to learn their lines, prayers and songs. Their singing and dancing was amazing. Well done!
On Thursday 21st January, the children in Year Three enjoyed their first sign language lesson. The children have learnt how to sign the letters of the alphabet and how to sign simple greetings. This is the first lesson of six
sessions and the children are thoroughly enjoying it.

On Tuesday 12th January, the children in Year Three enjoyed making Egyptian bread and evaluating their cookery skills. The children were able to follow a recipe and use measuring scales/jugs too. We have some excellent bakers in Year Three

Altru Theatre Group provided a stimulating Egyptian workshop for our Year Three Children. The children produced a play in a day about life in Ancient Egypt which they performed to another year group. During the day the children learnt lots of facts about life in Ancient Egypt and also had lots of fun building human pyramids and making a mummy. Our photographs below show what fun we had whilst learning as well!
Year Three enjoyed a fantastic Geography field trip to New Brighton. We used a key to complete landmarks, leisure and eating facilities on a map of this coastal resort. The children discussed why people visit New Brighton for a day trip or a short break. Here are some pictures of our trip.
