Tous Ensemble, En Chemin Avec Jesus

Collective Worship

The Trinitarian nature of God is addressed through the use of symbols which speak of the 3 persons of the Holy Trinity.

The bible is understood by Christians to be the Word of God so a bible is the 1st symbol to be placed in the middle of the circle.

The cross symbolises the person of Jesus - it speaks of Jesus at the heart of our school community. Light a candle (with your family) and talk about the flame symbolising the 3rd person of the trinity, the Holy Spirit. Incense has been burnt in worship for 1000s of years to help people imagine their prayers rising into the presence of God so using a perfumed candle can add to the multi-sensory experience.

Read the passage from the Bible:

“And now I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love on another. If you have love for one another, then everyone will know that you are my disciples.”

John 13:34-35

Reflect upon the words. It is very important to reflect in our busy world.

Think about the following questions:

Who do you love?

-Do you love yourself?

-If you have an argument with someone do you still love them?

-How many different sorts of love are there?

-Does God love us when we make mistakes?

-How can we show our love to others?

Write a prayer about love - a prayer that reflects today's message.
