Reception Class of 2015!
Infant Sports Day 2015
We enjoyed an exciting 'mini olympics' with our families and friends, participating in twelve fun and challenging events:
We celebrated our achievements on Friday when we joined our friends in Year 1 and 2 for our Sports Day 'Awards Ceremony'. Everybody was recognised for their best or most favourite event by being awarded with an Olympic certificate and a gold medal to take home. You can see how proud we were to hear our names called out and then complete a lap of honour around the school hall to loud applause!
FRENCH WEEK 2015!
Our annual celebration of all things French took place when we celebrated French Week! Every day was filled with exciting opportunities to experience French culture and traditions:
LUNDI: Aurelie led a very special French lesson, we sang new songs, joined in with some very funny dancing and we watched French children's TV, including 'Peppa le couchon'!
MARDI: We enjoyed a French 'petit dejeuner', tasting brioches, jus de pomme and jus d'orange.
MERCREDI: We set up our very own French café in the role play area and practised speaking French to greet each other, say please or thank you and order snacks.
JEUDI: We used the interactive whiteboard to play games with Barnaby Bear 'en vacances' in France, discovering lots of famous places in Paris, including the Eiffel tower and the Louvre Art Gallery. Then we made our very own French flags in rouge, blanc et bleu.
VENDREDI: We all came to school dressed in the colours of the French Flag, le tricolore. The weather was beautiful so we took our flags outside for some special photos as a 'memoire' of our special week.
