The White Rose Hub are now only doing videos for the daily maths lessons. Today you're going to be looking at measuring capacity: https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-1/
Practical activities are a great way to build you child's confidence with capacity. Here is an idea for a fun practical activity to help your children visualise capacity:
Get some containers of different sizes (egg cups, beakers, plastic storage boxes, pots and pans), provide some water (in the sink, the bath, or a bucket outside), and let children compare capacities by filling and pouring from one to another. Encourage them to use language such as full, empty, contains more/less than. Can your child compare the containers and see which ones have less and which ones have more? Have fun!!
