Water and Mud Exploration
We worked on our self help and physical skills by putting on waterproofs and wellingtons ready for a day of water and mud play!
We used decorator brushes and rollers to develop our shoulder and arm muscles, vital to writing skills, by mark making on the walls with water. We 'painted' the slide and house too. Turning the tap on and off, filling and carrying watering cans and containers and transporting water all help to develop our muscles essential for writing, general gross motor skills and independence too. It has been great fun playing in the mud kitchen, digging, creating potions, planting lettuce seeds, watering potatoes and carrots seeds and adding a watery swamp to the dinosaur area.
Just a few of the highlights were Tate, Isaac and Jesse using sticks to make a 'boobytrap' for bugs. Thomas being Fireman Sam using the watering can to put out fires, Bailey making bubbly patterns on the ground, Charlotte discovering she could go down the slide very fast in her waterproofs, Alessa making cakes in the mud kitchen with friends and William and Sophia finding a cymbal and deciding it would be a good idea to hang it from the tree and play it.
