Mrs Benson Shares With Nursery
On Tuesday 8th March it was National Women’s Day. In Nursery we thought about who is a woman; the children named their Mums, Aunties and Grandmothers.
To celebrate National Women’s Day we asked Mrs Benson to talk to us about some of the special things she has done in her life.
Mrs Benson told us that she went to church from being a very little girl and she was confirmed when she was eight. Mrs Benson joined The Salvation Army church at fifteen and still goes today. She explained that she has a uniform a bit like a police officer and she helps people. Mrs Benson talked about helping at a food bank, a toddler group, helping with Sunday School and meeting with other women to read the Bible and pray. Mrs Benson talked about the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Rainbows, Brownies and Guides which many women (and men!) help to run. Mrs Benson helps at Nursery, likes to care for wild birds, she is a keen recycler and was on Songs for Praise on Sunday singing in her choir! Thank you to Mrs Benson for sharing with us.
