The Birthday Cafe Role Play
We have developed a Birthday Café following children's interests in their birthdays. Some children have also talked about birthday parties they have been to and showed photos from home in their Special Books. The children have dressed up in party clothes, filled present bags, cooked and ordered food in the café for their parties. The role play has been very popular, developing imaginative, language and social skills. It has linked well with the RE theme of Birthdays and Christmas. The children know that Jesus' birthday is celebrated at Christmas too.
