Emmaus Nursery Weddings
We have been sharing our news for the RE theme ‘Good News and Pentecost.’ We looked at the photos on the Clever Board which Orla's Mum had emailed of her wedding. We listened to the story 'The Scarecrow's Wedding' and talked about what we need for a wedding. We talked about the Royal Wedding and Sophia was very eager to dress as Meghan. Olivia knew that on the wedding list we needed to include a veil and a wedding dress for the bride. We talked about the family, the guests and the photographer too.
We talked about how weddings are celebrated in church and about the role of the Vicar or Priest. We decided to have a wedding on the beach at Nursery. We set up an altar with a candle, cross and Bible. Children took turns in dressing up as the bride, groom, father of the bride, best man, bridesmaids and flower girls. We had a clergy minister and photographers too! The rings were carried in on an Emmaus shell and we all cheered when the bride and groom were married.
Have a look at the links below for the Morning and Afternoon Nursery photographs. After half term the photos children have taken themselves on the digital cameras will be uploaded too.
