The Mud Kitchen and Outdoor Play
We have had a very exciting time playing, exploring and building our friendships. We are learning how to be more independent by putting on our own wellies and waterproofs and hanging our shoes on the welly rack. It's tricky remembering not to walk on the wet play area in just our socks!
We made mud pies, soup and a giant potion with twigs, leaves and stones.
Cole loved cooking with mud in the kitchen. Archer found a big slug and lots of children found worms too. Millie, Tara, Edith and Jesse made a potion and Honor and Amelia stirred it with magic stick wands. Bliss, Kezia, Jorgie and Emma made Sleeping Beauty and Snow White magic mud potions.
We worked together transporting mud from the digging area and took turns with the utensils. We had a fantastic time jumping in puddles. Sofia loved making the digging area really muddy by transporting water from the tap, she even lost her welly!
As we play we are developing our social skills, learning to share resources and wait patiently for our turn. There is so much we can talk about as we play and laugh together, developing our communication and language skills while we have fun.
Lucas, Isaac, Edith, Jesse and Honor found T Rex eggs on the sand; they lined them up on the plank and Tate counted 14 altogether! Amelia, Mason and Thomas loved collecting leaves in the meadow and Shea found a long and a short stick while he collected leaves. Jade, Wafika, Ahmad, William and Isabella used the wheel barrow to transport logs, which they lifted together- great team worK! We played chase and enjoyed exploring the different sounds of the pans and tea pot percussion too.
