The BBC Own It keyboard and app

During lockdown you may be spending much more time online, using your phone to chat to friends and family and even doing your schoolwork. The Own It app will help you to make smart choices, feel more confident and get advice when you need it.

The Own It app helps you take control of your online life.

Download from your Apple or GooglePlay store. As you’re under 13, make sure your parent or guardian has given you permission first.

Purple Mash

Sharing - Display Board and Shared Blog

Display Board

We have started to share some of your amazing work to the 'Year 6 Display Board'. We hope you feel inspired by each other's work. The Year 6 Display Board on Purple Mash is getting updated regularly - keep checking to see if your work has been added!

Shared Blog

You can also communicate with your friends using the class blog page. We would love to know what you have been up to and what you have created since we last saw you.

The class blog page can be found by clicking the 'Sharing' icon at the top of the screen and clicking ‘Shared Blogs’, then selecting 'Year 6 Blog'.

You can add photographs of your amazing baking or drawing skills, Word documents of your creative stories or PowerPoints of your research. Miss Dickinson and Miss Williams have added a few posts already - keep an eye out for more! Within the class blogs, you can comment on blog posts that others have created and talk to your friends about their learning - please be kind. All comments will need to be approved by your teacher first so it may not show up on the blog page immediately.

Mrs Buckland has created a short video (on the year 3 class page) showing you how to add different types of documents to the shared blog.

Only Emmaus staff and year 6 parents and children can access these sharing facilities. All work will be approved by staff before it can be published. All comments will also be approved by staff.

A message to Year 6

Dear Year 6 children and families,

We would like to say an enormous thank you to all of you for making such a fantastic and beautiful video. It was such a lovely surprise and it really made us feel happy to see all of your smiley faces again.  We loved all of your drawings and messages and were impressed with your many skills such as football and trampoline. A special thank you to Arren and his family for putting the video together.

Thank you all so much again. We really appreciate it and will watch the video over and over again!

We miss you and hope to see you all soon. Stay safe and keep smiling. smiley

With lots of love from Miss Dickinson, Miss Williams, Mrs Richmond and Miss Whiteside. xxxxx  heart
