Outdoor Block Play
The children have been practising putting on their wellies and hanging their shoes on the rack to encourage independence and develop gross motor skills. The children's fine motor skills have been improving as they fasten and unfasten the straps on their shoes.
The children have been working together digging and creating structures with crates, planks and large wooden blocks. Tate made an obstacle course, many made bridges and Sofia made 'a wall next to the ducks'.
The children's balance and confidence has been growing as they co-operated whilst building. They helped one another to balance along the blocks and planks. The children are learning to make simple risk assessments, testing if planks and blocks are safe or 'wobbly' before they step on them.
