Postman Mark's Visit
Florence's Dad, Postman Mark, came to talk to us about his important job sorting and delivering mail. Postman Mark said that he works with another post person and if they have any very heavy parcels they use the postal van. Luca asked if Postman Mark was a good van driver. He is!
Postman Mark showed us his large post bag and explained where his mini computer was kept for scanning special deliveries. Postman Mark told us that the most unusual thing he has delivered was a box of live fish swimming in water! It was very heavy.
We learnt about posting letters and cards in the post box and putting a stamp on them too.
Postman Mark said that all the postal workers are extremely busy collecting children's letters from the post boxes to deliver to Santa. Postman Mark showed us his Royal Mail badge on his shirt, jacket, waterproof coat, hat and bag. Florence helped her dad by dressing in a postperson's shirt and holding up the Postman Pat stamp stickers.
We are looking forward to our role play post office where we will post letters to Santa in the Nursery post box.
