Warning: a tear jerker! After you have watched the videowould you be able to have a go at writing a set of instructions on how to build a snowman?

Literacy Tasks W/B 4th May

As well as the literacy tasks above, have a look at your 2dos on Purple Mash and have a go at the work all about Ned and the Jungle Animals! laugh

Literacy Tasks W/B 27th April

As well as the literacy activities above, have a look at this video from the Literacy Shed https://www.literacyshed.com/diving-giraffes.html
It's called 5 Metres 80 (High Diving giraffes) it's very funny! After watching the video we would like you to describe the giraffe in the video in detail. You could draw a picture and label it with different things or you could write a list! After you've done this you could draw a giraffe and label that too! laugh

We read this book as a class and the children really enjoyed it! It is all about a set of crayons. In the book, the crayons send postcards to Duncan (the boy) saying where they are and how they feel about being lost. The children could have a go at writing their own postcard to Duncan pretending they are one of the crayons! I have attached some pictures underneath for some ideas!

The children can fill in a book review for any books they have read. It can either be printed or the children could write their own review in their pink books they got given in their packs!
Use this picture to stimulate a discussion with your child. Ask the children to try and answer these questions:
  • Where is it from?
  • Why is it so small?
  • Are there more like him?
  • Where does he live?
  • How will you look after it?
  • Will you keep it a secret or tell someone?
  • What is it called?
  • Is it magic?  What magic can it do?
I like to imagine that it is a really small dragon which you can keep in your pocket but when you need to it can grow huge so that you can ride it.

The children could write a piece of writing imagining that they are in the house. What can they see? Where would they go? How would they feel?

Watch this lovely video with your children, the little girl blows a bubble and can go anywhere that she wants to! Ask your children to imagine where they would go if they could transport there in their own little bubble. They can write and draw where they would go in their pink books!laugh
