EY Book Week Celebration
At the end of Book Week the Nursery children joined Reception to enjoy stories from our classes special authors. The morning Nursery children told the children in RG the name of our special class author and wore the hats they had made based on Eric Carle's book 'Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You see?' Some of the Nursery children held up paintings they had created based on the Brown Bear book and Eric Carle's story 'Little Cloud.' The children told RG what they had painted. Mrs Giaed then dressed up to read 'Room on the Broom' by Julia Donaldson, RG's special author. Children helped to tell the story with puppets. Nursery finished the week with a Book Week party.
The afternoon Nursery joined RG and RK for a Gruffalo hunt in the hall. The children worked in mixed teams of Reception and Nursery looking for hidden number clues, then the numbers were ordered 1 to 19...The Gruffalo was hiding in a cupboard with number 20! The children were so excited to find him. While the children ate party food they watched 'The Gruffalo's Child' (by Julia Donaldson) on the big screen. The morning children will be watching 'The Gruffalo's Child' and enjoying a Gruffalo hunt in the Nursery next week.
