Tous Ensemble, En Chemin Avec Jesus
We have been celebrating Diwali, the Hindu ‘festival of light’. We have enjoyed finding out about the traditions of this special festival and discovered that Diwali is a celebration when Indian families pray for good luck and prosperity by lighting rows of lamps called ‘diyas’.
We listened to the traditional tale of Rama and Sita and enjoyed making our own diva lamps, creating traditional rangoli patterns with chalks and powder paint and dressing up in real saris to join in with Indian dancing to ‘Bollywood’ music wearing Indian jewellery, bells and bindis!
